General Information

The Euroclinic Children’s Hospital Dermatology Department strives for early diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions in young patients, from infants to adolescents.

The Department specialists offer parents all the necessary information on how to properly care for their child’s skin, advise them on how to deal with certain chronic skin disorders, and provide information on sun protection and mole examination. The medical staff also focus on the treatment of certain viral, parasitic and bacterial skin infections, as well as on the diagnosis and treatment of rashes due to various etiologies.

Services

Apart from the conventional physical exam with the use of a flashlight, other exams performed at the Dermatology Department include dermatoscopy for examination of moles and other skin lesions, cryotherapy for removal of warts and papillomas, diathermocoagulation, and removal of molluscum contagiosum lesions. Procedures that may be painful for the child are performed after application of anesthetic cream wherever possible, so that treatment is well tolerated.

If the surgical removal of a mall or other lesion is necessary, the procedure is performed in the operating theater, under local anesthesia or neuroleptanesthesia, depending on the case. The Department may also issue certificates to children ruling out contagious skin diseases so they may participate in school or swimming pool activities.

Medical Infrastructure & Technology

The Dermatology Department is equipped with a dermatoscope, a cryotherapy device and a portable single-use diathermy device.
