General Information
The Euroclinic Children’s Hospital Pulmonology Department has been operating since the establishment of the Hospital, in 2002. It has a regular Outpatient Clinic, while it works with the rest of the Hospital departments (Pediatric, Allergy, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, etc), offering top-level healthcare services to young patients with respiratory problems.
The specialized medical and nursing staff stand out for their long experience and regular training, and are able to successfully treat an array of conditions, including: chronic cough, wheezing, common respiratory tract infections, chronic laryngitis and pneumonia.
The staff are in close contact with the parents and the family pediatrician, which contributes to early and proper diagnosis of even the most complicated cases, prevention of potential complications, compliance of the patient to the treatment, and eventual recovery
Services
The Pulmonology Departments treats a number of severe and less severe conditions daily, including congenital infections, bronchial asthma, lesions, etc.
The Outpatient Clinic specialists deal successfully with bronchial asthma, which requires special attention, given that its phenotypes differ based on age, which may lead to misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose. Instructions are also given on recording symptoms, effectively handling crises, as well as using different breathing devices and flow meters.
Medical Infrastructure & Technology
The Pulmonology Department is equipped with a spirometer, flow meters and oximeters for performing spirometry, bronchodilation and bronchial hyperreactivity tests.
It is supported by other Hospital departments if necessary, such as microbiology, radiology, etc.
