Euroclinic: Gold and Silver award, two leading distinctions, at the HBA 2021

Innovative and modern healthcare services stand out once again

Athens Euroclinic was distinguished at the Healthcare Business Awards 2021 by BOUSSIAS, with a Gold award for the groundbreaking treatment of patients with colon cancer and with a Silver award for the certification of the Stroke Unit by the European Stroke Organization. The Award Ceremony took place on Monday 20 September during a special event at Kellari Papachristou, while following all the necessary protective measures.

Specifically, it received the Gold award in Surgical Innovation for the Department of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Lower Digestive Tract, which uses an innovative technique on patients with colon cancer. This method combines the use of new technologies (3D recomposition of vessels and Augmented Reality) and robotic surgery to perform individualized procedures that increase survival rate by up to 17%. At the same time, the Department, has been certified by the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for performing this method, while Dr. Petropoulou is a member of the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery.

As noted by the General Surgeon of Athens Euroclinic who specializes in Robotic Colorectal Surgery, Thaleia Petropoulou, “We are extremely proud that we can now offer the chance to more patients to receive effective treatment for colon cancer compared to existing techniques.”

At the same time, Euroclinic received the Silver award for the honorary certification of the model Stroke Unit by the European Stroke Organization. This recognition places Euroclinic and Greece in a distinguished network of hospitals in Europe with top-quality criteria for providing dedicated treatment and support to patients who have suffered a stroke.

The Head of the Unit, Ms. Vaso Zisimopoulou, stated, “The Stroke Unit is a dedicated facility which focuses on the upgraded diagnosis, treatment and prevention of strokes.”
