The Euroclinic Children’s Hospital, true to its annual appointment with the pediatric community, hosted successfully for yet another year the 14th Scientific Meeting on Saturday 24 November at Aigli Zappeiou, in the packed Olympia room.

Distinguished pediatricians as well as professors of Pediatrics from the University of Athens honored the meeting with their presence and interesting presentations. The keynote speaker, Mr. Evgenios Trivizas, Criminologist and Author, left his own indelible mark with a contemporary and current lecture.

Over 300 pediatricians and other scientists participated and were updated on contemporary topics in pediatrics which present great interest, both for pediatrics and for everyday clinical practice. Some of the topics discussed during the event included “What makes a child more likely to develop asthma”, “Diagnosis and treatment of dyslipidemia in childhood”, “The role of neonatologists and pediatricians in diagnosing inherited metabolic diseases”, and “Reflux disease in infants and children”.

After his inspirational speech, criminologist and author Mr. Evgenios Trivizas, noted, “Stories for children aim to encourage their creativity and imagination, two of the most neglected sides of upbringing. The future and progress of our society depends on their physical and mental wellbeing. It’s a great honor and pleasure to be given the opportunity to participate in the Euroclinic Children’s Hospital Meeting and to address people who love and scientifically support the children. I wish them all the best in this significant and demanding work.”

The CEO of the Euroclinic Group, Mr. Antonis Vouklaris, mentioned, “Today, the Euroclinic Children’s Hospital is celebrating its 16-year course in pediatric care. This year is special to us, since we have completed 20 years from the establishment of the Athens Euroclinic and pledged to work together with three of the largest organizations focusing on children. The 14th Scientific Meeting is not only a very good chance to update the pediatric community, but also the cornerstone of our effort to support the children.”

Mr. Michail Soutis, Director of Pediatric Surgery and Sector Head of the Euroclinic Children’s Hospital Pediatric Department, stated, “The common aim of the scientific meetings we organize all these years is to contribute to spreading the knowledge of medical science and to fully inform the pediatric community.”
