A few words about Botox:
What it is: Botox is the most common and popular anti-aging treatment for wrinkle reduction. It contributes to the reduction of wrinkles on the glabella (area between the eyebrows), forehead, the area around the eyes (crow’s feet), and the area around the mouth and the neck. Botox is the trade name of botulinum toxin. It is a quick, painless procedure which is injected directly into the mimic muscle to reduce its contractility, and loosen the skin and the face wrinkles.
How often it is performed: While botox sessions can be unlimited, the dermatologist implements an application protocol, which usually includes three treatments per year for the first two years, two treatments for the next two years and an annual maintenance treatment for the next years, so that the face looks firm without any unattractive and unnatural results.
How it works: After botox treatment, the drug starts to gradually take effect and the complete result is visible 15 days after the injection. So a natural result is achieved, eradicating the traces of aging, without any sudden cosmetic changes.
The process: Botox is being medically administered without side-effects for the last 40 years. The procedure is safe if performed by an experienced dermatologist. It can be performed at the doctor’s office and lasts 15 minutes, depending on the application area, while the results last from 4 to 6 months.
A few words about Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid):
What it is: Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule of the skin with high binding water ability (1 hyaluronic acid molecule binds 6 water molecules). The aging process gradually reduces its concentration on the skin. Hyaluronic acid in high concentrations (18-23%), cross-linked or not, is widely used to fill out fine lines of the nasolabial furrows, smoker lines, marionette lines, cheekbones (volume), lips and anywhere else in general where reduction of the desired volume is observed.
How it works: Hyaluronic acid is an absolutely safe substance which does not cause allergic reactions or other side-effects. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the human body. It is absorbed by the body 8 to 14 months following its infusion. It is applied by a dermatologist. After having studied and detected the imperfections, they design the application lines to avoid asymmetries and inject it into the problematic areas.
The process: Before the application, which is performed at the doctor’s office, anesthetic cream is applied to minimize the pain. The results are excellent and immediate.
